Having trouble finding the coolant drain plug!

Hi there,

Trying to replace my radiator but im stuck at the first step! For the life of me i can not find the coolant drain plug for my Mazda Lantis 1996. I've been searching everywhere but cant seem to find it. Getting really frustrated! Would appreciate it if someone could describe to me simply where i could find this drainage plug.

A lot of cars don't have them. Some radiators are built so cheaply that if you open the petcock, the plastic that the o-ring seals against breaks and you have a drip about once every five seconds, and the only fix is to replace the entire radiator. For that reason, we typically remove the lower radiator hose and let 'er gush into a big drain pan. When we have to charge labor by the hour, we don't have time to stand there and watch the coolant piddle out of that little drain.
