The car listed above has a Chrysler engine. I need to replace harmonic balancer and pull timing cover. Tried to remove with socket and 150ft lbs on air wrench. Using norman counter clockwise rotation to loosen the bolt. Its supposed to be 74-120ft lbs. So am I turning the bolt correctly or is this a reverse (left hand thread tightens counter clock wise, removes clockwise)? Or do I need to apply much more ftlbs to remove the bolt. Thanks

Take a look at the first document. It says a force greater the 260 ft lbs may be needed. Plus if you don't have a comparable tool to hold it then you are going to struggle with getting it off.

Let me know if you have questions. Thanks

Is the bolt normal right hand thread ccw to loosen and cw to tighten or left hand cw to loosen, ccw to tighten. Have 500ftlb air tool, wanted to be sure of loosening direction before proceeding and have a balancer holding tool. Please advise.

Nope. Should be normal counter clockwise. Turns to the left to get it off. Use short bursts of the air gun until it loosens. Constant bouncing of the air gun could damage things.

Yep. It will come off. If not, then you can heat the bolt head but just make sure to not get crazy with it because there is a seal which holds back oil. If that starts leaking it could catch fire. If you leave it directly on the bolt head it will expand the threads which will break the rust loose.

Let us know how you make out. Thanks
