Harmonic balancer pulley

I am removing it the harmonic balancer pulley. I have the pulley removal kit attached when I am tighting the tension-er bolt everything turns with it I adjusted and the bolt gets tight with threads still showing so I do not know what to do.

Can you stick a ratchet extension or some other type bar against the balancer's face and contacting/ inside the pullers legs?

This will give you something to grab onto to stop the turning.

You could also use an open/box wrench. Hook the puller's leg/bolt with the open end, rotate and rest the wrench's shank against the other leg. Just something to counter your torque of the puller.
