Once the engine is warmed up if the car sits for more than five minutes it will not start. If I spray carburetor cleaner into the intake it will start. I do not use ether because car has a ton of miles on it.

With a lot of miles on the clock, it may be time to do a compression test just to make sure all is good and check spark plugs and ignition system. It may be just a matter of a good tune up and run a scan just to check for any codes as not all codes will set a check light.

Hello BILLMY,

I am sending you a link to an article that features written step by step instructions and pictures explaining how to scan for codes yourself. Also, I have included a link to our YouTube channel with a how to video on code scanning.

This is applicable even if your check engine light is not on.

Most scanners are inexpensive to purchase, you can purchase one online from sites like Amazon.com

Once you have the codes please get back to us so that we can further assist you. We are always happy to help.

Thank you for visiting 2CarPros.com.

Kindest regards,
Renee
