Cranks but will not start. Have replaced the alternator, battery, fuel filter, has lines, fuel sending unit, and the fuel pump. Was able to get it starting but only after I remove the air intake tube, and held the throttle position open. Once I got it started, it has started every time since. Would like to know what may be the cause?

You may of just flooded it, opening the throttle plate will allow a lot more air in and if it is over rich from a no start. It may be all it needs to get going and once the plugs have cleared up normally there is no further issue. But to be safe check plugs and make sure the gaps are okay. Also, fuel pressure regulator may be faulty so a fuel pressure test would also help.
