Must cycle key on and off several times before truck will start, then it runs just fine for as long as you need it. Once its parked for a while (thirty minutes to an hour) then it is back to on and off and hoping it will start. I just bought it used last week. Code scanner showed C0100 code and said scanner would need update to interpret the code. Tried but could not update. TOPTAK-TP280 can. Checked plugs, okay and replaced airflow sensor. Nothing changed.

Difficult starting after engine has been turned off for a period of time are mostly caused by insufficient fuel pressure. Turning the key on and off helps to prime the the fuel pressure and enables starting.

I would suggest testing the fuel pressure and checking the fuel pump and pressure regulator.

Were you able to erase the trouble code? This code does not indicate a faulty part but rather a condition that fails to meet specifications.
