Hard to start

My daughter's car became very hard to start. To get it started you must turn the ignition while flooring the gas peddle. It usually takes about a minute to get it going. It does not start like it used to, it's more like it continues to turn over and slowly builds up from there.
Any ideas on where to start troubleshooting? There is no code being displayed at this time so I'm open to suggestions.
