2. what should be the normal heater temperature gauge of twenty minutes of running?

this will depend on the thermostat used, but 1/4 to 1/2 gauge would be expected.check all tune items make sure spark plug gaps are okay. sounds like a tune problem. also, check for any codes, start here.
