Hard steering

I have a Kia Care with 143,000 KM. I was on vacation for more than outside the country and I did not drive the car during this. After I came back I find the steering wheel is so hard in the both sides, and the EBS warning light is on. When I checked the mechanic told me that I have to change full of the steering machine. Is the there any other solution to repair it? Or do I have to change it?

Is the EBS light the ABS light by chance?

Okay, turns out it is the same thing which nine time out of ten is a wheel speed sensor. You can use this guide or watch this video to find out which one it is (there are 4 ).

What you sent is about ABS
My problem is about steering not about brakes

It looks like the power steering motor has gone out or is not getting power. Here is a guide to help you see what is going on with diagrams below to show you how to do the test and how the system works:
