Hi,
When it doesn't start, check fuse 8 in the under-hood fuse box. See if there is power to it.
Next, with the key in the start position (you'll need a helper) see if there is power to pin 85 on the starter relay.
At this point, I suspect the issue is in the totally integrated power module (TIPM). They are known to have problems with connectors. In this one, the relay primary is actuated by an integral electronic starter coil driver. This is a theory, but I have a feeling that is causing the problem.
