I changed the input and output speed sensors. I also replaced the automatic shift solenoid. It downshifts hard into third. The transmission does not slip. If I put the transmission in neutral and shift it into drive at 30 mph it shifts easy into gear.

Hello,

There is a pressure control solenoid which sounds like it is out. Here is the location so you can replace it. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.

I’ve replaced that solenoid already. I seems to me that the Tourque Converter is slamming because it only does it when it shifts down at higher speeds. Around 35 mph. If I shift it into neutral and back to drive at 30 mph it is much smoother. Do you think a trans conditioner like Trans x would help repair the Converter Lock?

Not really, when the converters go out it is because of a mechanical failure but you can give it shot. Is the unit you install a factory rebuild or new?

You know I’m not sure if it’s new I did not ask. It was a $100.00 before the core charge. So I’d say it’s refurbished. Hmm.
I never thought of that. Thank you
