Hi,

That could be quite a few different things. By chance, is anything leaking from the engine compartment? Also, is the sound loud enough for you to record and upload for me to hear? That may be very helpful.

Also, open the hood and confirm the accessory drive belt (serpentine belt) is still installed, and let me know if any warning lights turned on.

I will watch for your reply.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

In the video, I hear a high-pitched squealing or rubbing (metal to metal). Is that what you hear?

If that is correct, I have a feeling one of the bearings is failing in one of the belt-driven accessories. If you look below, the first pic is for the alternator belt. First, loosen bolt B in the pic. Also, on the opposite side of the highlighted portion is a bolt that will need to be loosened. That is the pivot bolt. Once both are loose (not removed) bolt A in the pic is the adjustment bolt. Turn that to loosen and tighten the belt.

Once the belt is loose, remove it and spin each of the accessories it turns. See if you can recreate the sound.

Pic 2 below is for the power steering pump. The bolt indicated needs loosened, and then the pump can be moved in a direction to loosen the belt. To tighten the belt, you will need a pry bar to place pressure on the pump belt.

Let me know if you are comfortable doing this.

Take care,

Joe
