I've noticed in the last few weeks that when accelerating on the highway or from a red light my car makes a growling sound (the only way I know how to describe the noise). The sound has gotten louder over the past few days. And the sound can also be heard when turning. I attached a short clip with the sound. Any guesses on what could be causing the noise?

Hi,

For some reason, the attachment didn't make it. However, it sounds like you have a failing wheel bearing.

When you turn, see if it gets louder when turning in one direction and then lessens in the opposite, and let me know.

Take care,

joe

Hi,

If it is louder when turning right, chances are the left wheel bearing is failing. When you turn right, the vehicle's weight leans to the left. The weight is redistributed causing it to get louder.

Lift the left front wheel from the ground and see if there is any play in the bearing and let me know what you find.

Take care,

Joe
