Yes, it's warm weather so it's not from the cold. For the past month or so, sometimes when I start the car it makes a grinding noise that lasts from 1 to 3 seconds and then starts and runs just fine. Just today I started the car, no problem. Got back in the car to go home and had that grinding noise. Not sure if it's the starting gear, battery, or something else. It seems like if I keep turning it on and off the grinding noise is shorter and then completely gone but what the heck do I know.

Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so I can hear the noise? That way I can tell for sure what's going on. You can upload it here with your response. It sounds like the starter is going out here is how to replace it in the images below.

This guide can help walk you through the steps:

Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem so we can see what's going on.

Hey Ken, thank you so much for your reply. Unfortunately (ironically) the car is not making the sound atm. I was going to take a video with my original post, but it sounded fine, and I just tried again this morning and it sounded hunky dory. I will keep trying and once I get a video of it, I will post it. Just wanted to thank you again for taking the time to respond.
