grinding noise when i gas it hard.

so every once in a while when i give it more than 50% throttle, it makes this weird grinding noise, and it wont actually accelerate like its supposed to. its not from the transmission, sounds like it could be near the distributor? anyone help me out?

Will make noise in neutral rev up engine? Think could be torque convertor?

it only makes the noise when its in gear.. and the guy before me put a toggle switch for the torque converter, but i havent touched that.

drop pan and if lots of metal shavings then thats it

okay, and also, when i put it in gear, and go to accelerate it kinda bogs before it actually goes. does that mean intake gasket ? cause thats what i been told.
