While driving I hear a grinding noise from the front end

I removed the wheels to check the brakes thinking it was the brakes getting low. The pads were still in good condition and there were no gouges on the rotors from the brake pad sensor. I'm still convinced it's brakes, but needing new brakes at 35,000 miles sounds a bit strange to me. Could it be CV shaft or boot?

Good evening,
It could be a hub bearing. That is what supports the front wheels at the axle. It is a very common issue for grinding. If it is the bearing, the noise will increase and decrease with road speed.
Now, I'm assuming since I'm hearing the noise from the front of the vehicle, that it's the front bearing that's bad. Also, would you recommend replacing hub bearing and a brake service at the same time?

Not if the brakes are still good. Replace just the bearings.
