Grinding noise

When applying the brakes there is a grinding sound that sounds like metal on metal. When I changed front brake pads I noticed that the rotors were loose and came right off. I tried to wiggle the hub to see if it was wheel bearings but I had no play.

Is the grinding sounds coming from the front or rear? I quick video and upload it in your reply would help us. If the grinding is not the brake pads it will be the front hub or the e brake shoes. Here are two guides to help you see what you are in for when doing the job:
