I'm not sure if it's coming from the pulley itself i changed the clutch at the same time. What's weird is when I drive and shift from first then to second gear there is no grinding noise as soon as I get to a speed of about 60 km a hour in third the grinding noise comes and goes almost as if something is touching. What can I do to eliminate the noise and diagnose is there a special way the pulley needs to be fitted? kindly advise.

Hi,

I have to be honest. Since it doesn't happen until third gear, I doubt it is the pulley. I would think the pulley would make noise regardless of speed and the gear. What all was done when you replaced the clutch?

Let me know.

The timing belt, tensioner and idler was changed as well as the seals on the cam. Water pump and gearbox mounting was also changed thermostat and fan switch.

Hi,

I still feel the noise would be present regardless of the gear selection or engine speed. Once the noise starts, is there anything you can do to cause it to change pitch or volume? Is it possible for you to record it and upload it for me to hear? It seems to be related to speed rather than something rubbing that was replaced. Are you certain the axles are properly installed?
