When i turn the vehicle off and sit in it a low grinding like noise starts and only stops when i press on the brake pedal. Let off the pedal and it starts again. Doesn't happen when the vehicle is on.

Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so I can hear the noise? That way I can tell for sure what's going on. You can upload it here with your response. It sounds like it could be the brake booster, or the ABS control unit is going out. Is the ABS sensor light on? If so, let's run the codes to see what codes are stored, this video should help:

We need to find out where the noise is coming from, can you lift the hood and then have a helper press the brake pedal to see if you can locate the origin of the noise? Please let us know what happens.
