Buzz in radio that varies in sound level

Have a buzz in radio that varies in sound level is there suppose to be a ground on the gas tank. Also gray smoke on start up which varies on how much at different starts.

Good morning,

Check the charging system voltage. make sure it is 14 to 14.5 volts. Then switch your scale to AC voltage and measure that as well.

No, the fuel tank does not have a strap. all components on the tank have external grounds.

The smoke could be oil burning off from worn valve seals.

Changed alternator radio buzz quit but started buzzing again.

Well kind of lost radio buzz. alternator was bad replaced buzzing stopped for a day. started buzzing again, disconnected negative hooked light between post and lead it light up pulled every fuse and reading 12 volts between battery negative post and lead confused. Thanks Roy.

Okay, using a test light is not a way of checking for a draw. You need to check for current flow. that is what causes a drain, not voltage.

You are looking for 50-75 milliamps. You need an amp meter to do this test.
