My son just bought an 03 cavalier 2.2 engine. It runs smooth, but now that its getting cold, I noticed this morning that the exhaust is blowing light blue smoke. There is no service engine light coming on, & it gives me no codes on my scanner. Is it worth repairing? Or should I do the head, or rings?

Blue is oil as you might have figured already. Does it do it initially when started and clears up or is it all the time. If its only on start up. Suspect valve guide or seal issues causing leak. If it is all the time or worse when accelerating suspect worn piston rings or cylinder walls.
