2006 GMC Yukon V8 All Wheel Drive Automatic

What would cause the speedometer to break? We haven't speeded in the truck or anything. One morning we got into the truck to go to work and it was stuck on 60 mph. Could this be an electrical problem what?

03-04's were both recalled for that same reason they say its a cluster problem. 05-06 just went to court the other day, go to www.speedometersettlement.com i think the 06's are included... as long as you have under 70k on it they are supposed to replace it for free pending the outcome of the court case
