2005 GMC Yukon Voltage drop

When car heats up, 20 miles or so, the voltage as shown on the gage drops to about 11.8 volts. When you turn on the lights, it will slowly climb to 14.8 volts. Other than that every thing still works, but I assume my battery will give out early.

I found a service bulletin for your charging system, 11.8 is a little low.

Follow up that may have an effect. Alternator is newly replaced with new, not rebuilt. It did not do this with the old unit. This is a Bosch alternator.
