2004 GMC Yukon steeribg wheel makes knocking sounds

I have a 2004 yukon and every time i turn right or left my steering wheel makes knocking or poping noises can you give me any idea what is causing this Thanks

I found out what it is its the steering wheel shaft it was broke replaced it and the pops stopped so if you have the same problem check the shaft
