The speedometer stoped working. We went to the mechanic and said "there was a recall but the timeframe was up". He is trying to charge us five hundred dollar just for the part.

Try going to other GM dealerships and see if they well perform the recall.

Your original cluster can be rebuilt but most dealers and independent mechanics don't realize it, it's very cost effective.
