Recently my fuel gage has gone out of calibration. When full, it reads past the full mark. When empty it reads 1/2 a tank. Do I need to pull the dash and turn the dial or is there another way to calibrate it?

The first thing I would check is the sending unit. Is this a single tank vehicle, how many gallons does the tank hold? The voltage and ohms specs are different for different tank sizes.
