I have a 2003 GMC Yukon XL 5.3 liter 4 wheel drive. I am having a problem with the Yukon wanting to stall when I back up or come to a complete stop. I was told by a local shop that my water temperature sensor or the coolant sensor are probably bad. Any suggustions would be great. Also where would I locate the water temp sensor? thanks

most common culprit for an engine that stalls when coming to a stop or in reverse is a faulty torque converter.. i don't see how temp. sensor would have anything to do with it stalling but the engine coolant temp. sensor is on the front side of the left cylinder head.
