2003 GMC Yukon rough idle at start up.

When I first start the suv whether cold or warmed up the rpms jump form 300 to 500 for a few minutes. once the engine is warn no problems. Only when I shut off and restart.

Has the check engine light come on? It sounds like a problem with either the EGR or throttle position sensor; however, without a check engine light, that is a guess. Also, check for vacuum leaks.
