2003 GMC Yukon Low oil pressure

I have a 2003 GMC Yukon, I have just recently noticed that my oil pressure gauge drops down to almost the redline when at about 3000 to 4000 RPM other wise the oil pressure is at 500 Kpa. Engine oil is topped off, and the filter was recently replaced, any idea on the causes would be appreciated.

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge-if normal replace the oil pressure switch-abnormal could be oil pump/engine bearings
