While driving I recieved a warning that the battery was not charging. I notice that my dash light were dim and the the battery gauge was low. After a few mintues of displaying this warning, everything went back to normal only to happen again while I turned on and off the engine.

Welcome to the forum, I'd have to make sure the battery has a full charge and the connections are good. I'd also check the charging system, on the vehicle. Some of the national brand auto stores will do that for you. You need to test when problem is ongoing.
