i replaced my battery about 2 months ago while the engine was running. i just was told yesterday you shouldn't do that,(the called it deadheading the altenater) which now i know why, my volt meter was always peged way past 19 volts, so after 2-2-1/2 months i thought i probably fried my altenater so i just repaced my altenater and the gage still goes past 19 volts. another gay says that i probably have something else going on, maybe in the computer?
