The ABS and Brake dash lights come on from time to time. Some times I may go weeks and nothing happens and other times they will come on as I am driving especially if the road is a little rough. Once the lights come on they do not go out unless I restart the vehicle. It is sporadic and seems to be getting more often. When the lights are on the brakes work fine, but the ABS does not. It acts like a short or lose connection, but I have no idea where to begin.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Jack the vehicle up, put on stands and inspect the wheel sensor connectors. Make sure they are tight and the connector locking tang is clipped to the connector.
If OK then you would need a chassis scanner (most auto parts scanners are for the PCM (P codes).
A chassis scanner will give you the specific code that the ABS module is seeing.
Most brake shops and garages will have a chassis scanner.
