2005 gmc Yukon xl, currently has electrical problems such as spedometer and tach not functioning. Latest issue is as I was stopping today traction control kicked in making that awful noise. There was loose gravel so didn't think much of it. Went to take off and vehicle bogged and continued w/ noise shut vehicle off for about 1/2 hr and drove around a small parking lot and seemed ok. Went to pull out of lot and the bog and noise returned briefly until abs and t/c light came on and service stability text came over. Drove vehicle 10 miles back home w/ no problems. Shut off until dad came over to take a test drive and noise and bog still continue initially. Is this more electrical issues? A computer issue?

LET'S DO THIS PRELIMINARY TEST....THIS WON'T TELL THE WHOLE STORY...BUT IT WILL GIVE YOU AN IDEA ON WHAT MAY NOT BE WORKING

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bzz7P3qNHcE

IN ORDER TO GET THE WHOLE STORY, THIS STUFF CAN BE "LOAD TESTED" AND THE BATTERY MAY SHOW UP BAD--OR ONLY THE ALTERNATOR

IT'S BEEN MY EXPERIENCE THAT IF THE ALTERNATOR TEST IN THE LINK ABOVE SHOWS "NOTHING"...I MEAN VOLTAGE DOES NOT IMPROVE AT THE BATTERY WHEN YOU CRANK IT UP.....MOST OF THE TIME, YOU CAN SAY THE ALTERNATOR IS BAD

BEFORE YOU RUSH OUT AND BUY SOMETHING

READ THIS "ONGOING" POST I'M CURRENTLY INVOLVED IN (NO NEED TO RESPOND IN IT---RETURN HERE TO RESPOND)...JUST SOAK IN THE INFO!

BAD CONNECTIONS CAN ALSO CAUSE YOUR SITUATION....LAST ONE FOR NOW....I DON'T WANT TO OVERLOAD YOU TOO MUCH!....BUT I DO WANNA INSURE YOU GET THE MOST HELP I CAN PROVIDE BEFORE YOU TAKE ACTION

ROGER!

'BOUT BED TIME HERE.I'LL BE UP ANOTHER HOUR. MAYBE (EASTERN TIME)

IF YOU HAVE AN ON BOARD VOLTMETER IN YOUR GAUGE CLUSTER. YOU PROBABLY CAN'T TRUST IT FOR TESTING THIS (I WOULDN'T ON A COMPUTER OPERATED CAR)

I WOULD ON OLDER VEHICLES. LIKE '80s ON BACK, SUCH AS IN MY JEEPS

HARBOR FREIGHT HAS DIGITAL VOLTMETERS FOR $5 --- AT PARTS STORES YOU CAN GET ONE FOR LESS THAN $20

I HOPE YOU UNDERSTOOD ALL, WHAT I WAS A THROWING AT YOU!

I DO ALL THE LINKING, AS I FIGGER I HAVE ALREADY WRITTEN IT ONCE, AND I AM SO SLOW HUNTIN' AND PECKIN' OUT ANSWERS

YOUR TURN (THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE). THE JEEPS ARE MINE IN THE PICS
