After turning too sharp and getting hung up in the snow a few weeks agoi my drive selection switches (4wd HI, 4wd-LOm 2wd-HI and Auto 4wd) failed to light up and didnot function. The "service 4wd' light came on. The vehicle is smooth in reverse, but "stutters and shakes" on acceleration from a stop and appears to be in rear wheel drive mode only.

Any ideas?

I can check the switch by disconnecting the front axle accuator and driving but would that account for the stuttering on forward acceleration an smooth reverse? Also this was immediately following a "disagreement" with a snow bank entering my driveway.
