1999 GMC Truck starter

I broke the power terminal off that goes to the starter, replaced the starter it started fine the first time , turned it off and started it to be sure and it started.. I tried to start it again and it wouldnt start, it wont click or do anything I checked the starter and i noticed that the solenoid cable broke off leading to the vehicle i connectd it back to the solenoid screw and it still wont do anything.......please help me out someone.

OK if you would get a test light and check for voltage at the battery cable at the starter. Then check the S term for power when you put the key in the start possition. Let me know what you fnd. You may have to use a digital multi meter to do other tests if needed.
