1991 GMC Truck well i think its the trans

ok so my truck usually runs great..but once in a great moon while i am in reverse, my can just dies and the engine light, brake lights, all the lights come on and i dont kno wht hapened. but then it will start back up until anyway from 3weeks to 2 months then it will happen again. so if you have any idea what is going on lease let me kno. thanks

I don't think your trans is the problem, I think it's a coincidence. Check your through the firewall wire harness for loose, or corroded connections. It would also be a good idea to check all the grounds to the engine and firewall. Hope this info helps..............Mickey-d
