1999 GMC Suburban No Brakes Lights

When I barely tap on the brakes I have lights, when I slam on my brakes I have no lights.
I have had a brake job and changed the brake fuse, with no luck.
Can you possible tell me what is wrong.

Inspect and test the brake switch if okay could be the turn and hazard switch the brake circuit goes thru there.
