My mechanic replaced fuel pump assembly on Friday. Fuel tank was full when pump quit. He relaced gas in tank after repair. He started vehicle and gauge went to full--a few seconds later it went to empty. When you turn ignition on, gauge moves a millimeter or so and falls back to past empty. Truck runs fine -- but no gauge reading. He hooked up scan tool and says computer indicates that tank is 98% full, which should be accurate. He thinks gauge itself may be faulty, and wants to remove gauge cluster-send it off--and have it tested. I dont believe in that kind of coincidence - considering the gauge has always worked smoothly and worked after the pump quit. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Joe
