i have a2002gmc sonoma with a 112,000miles, 4.3 engine,4x4 and when you give it gas it has a roaring noise,but when you let off the gas it quits can u tell me any possible problem this could be.

check the fan clutch. with the engine off spin the blade if its locked up it will not spin, also look for oil around the fan if you find oil its a good chance that the thermostat in the fan has malfunctioned
