2002 GMC Sonoma where is the shaking coming from?

when i accelerate and hit about 30 to 40 mph the steering wheel begins to shake,then goes away. Also when im stopped and let go of the brake and begin to take off there is a little clunk in the front suspension. What's goin on?

try switching yoru front tires to the rear, it may be a bad tire. But have yoru front end checked by a pro as you probably have something wrong with it, especially if you hear a clunk while drivving.
