what is a fair price for transmission removal, rebuild and installation / all in one?

a shop has quoted me the price 1800 to 2800.

Hello and thanks for the donation! Estimate below is for removing, overhauling and installing your vehicle's transmission. Estimate does not include any parts that may be needed to do the overhaul since I don't know what it needs exactly. I wouldn't pay more than $2,000 for this repair though..
