2001 GMC Sonoma brake and AC

Bad things happen when I run my AC. It seems like the brakes tighten up?? Are the brakes related to the AC?

brakes and a/c are not connected. However it may be when the a/c is on it is a drag on your engine as it's a 4 cyl. It may just seem like they are draggin when you stop. But have a pro check that as that is hard to diagnose here.
