I'm replacing the water pump in a 98 GMC Sonoma but we can't figure out how to get the radiator fan off. How do I remove the radiator fan to get to the water pump?

it spins off. the parts store has a tool that will hold the fan while you loosen the big nut, they usually will loan it to you. if you have access to air tools you can use a air hammer to jar it loose

the specail tool is a huge flat wrench that goes aroud 2 pulley bolts and then another smaller flat wrench goes over nut holding fan onto pump and then loosen nut.
