Okay I got a/c charged and its blowing cold air. One catch, I had to give the front center of the compressor a small tap and then it works. Still not sure if I have a leak. Im not finding any red dye anywhere from the leak detector. Could the compressor act that way if there was a leak or do I have another problem? If I cut a/c off them back on I have to tap the compressor. Please advise.

The compressor may have to much end play in it and bytapping it it may put the end play back wo where it should be to start. So it may be going bad. But it also could be the clutch plate for the compressor is set to far away for the coil behind it to pull it in to work. AS I don't know if the clutch has been off or what originally happened why the a/c failed this is a guess at best.
