Fuel gauge question

-this quetion has been asked but I cant seem to find an answer. The fuel gauge is sporadic and when the tank is full often times it will read empty---once the tank gets to about 3/4 it will begin working again but will sometimes go to empty when the truck is stopped. Anyone know whats going on?

Fuel level sensor, very common problem on gm, my truck needs one too
