I have a hot electrical smell coming from my vents when the air conditioning is on. I turned off the air conditiong and let the fan blow, the "hot electrical smell" subsided. The smell is similar to having two wired crossed.

I did some investigation (running a/c but with hood up and could not smell the hot electrical smell) so it doesn't appear to be the AC, is seems the hot electrical smell is in the engine bay and getting sucked back into the cab. After driving it, I opened the hood and could smell it. I can not see any melted wires or anything that looked out of the ordinary. I sniffed around also but could not locate where it is coming from in the engine bay.

No, the engine bay is clean. Not oil or antifreeze. Definetly electrical. Smells like two wires are crossed. It has to be getting hot enough to force its way into the cab even without the fan running. I'm guessing it has to be a heavy guage wire since it hasn't burnt off or blew a fuse. I'm not sure where the outside air get's pulled into the blower motor but i'm wondering if it's close to that area. You can smell it at low speeds 25-30mph without the fan being on.

No, it is a 5.3l V8. I touched every wire I could and did not feel any hot ones. Niether the alternator or compressor seem hot. I could not find any visible damage to any wiring in the engine bay.
