reduced engine performance came on in the message center, running fine before, barely moving afterwards

That usually means a problem with the "Drive by Wire" throttle system. It has dual sensors in it and when one malfunctions, it goes to half throttle maximum. Your going to need a professional scan tool, preferably a GM tool to be able to diagnose it properly.
