If i accerlerate fast the truck will act as if it was in netural but the truck stays at the same pace i was going before. But the rpms are at the max and the truck wont accerlerate any faster. If i accerlate at a slower rate the truck will get up to as fast as i want. But if i try to pass a car my truck will stop accerlating and will just stay at speed i was at before and will go to my max rpms till i let off the gas and wait till my rpms are at about 2-3. AFter my rpms are at about 2-3 i can slowly get up to speed. This happens at any speed. So im thinking its not my shifting cable being stretched out. I don't go ruff on my truck either.

Have you checked to make sure the transmission fluid is full? Has a check engine light come on?

Honestly, it sounds like the clutches are slipping which may require a general rebuild. Let me know the answers to the questions.

There is no check engine light.

And how much do u think it would cost to get that fixed if the clutchs are slipping.

Idk if this means anything but my door lights stoped working?

I don't think they are related. I would like you to take the vehicle to a good transmission tech to have him test drive the vehicle. If it does need a general rebuild, I would estimate around 2K for it based on where you live. I am recommening a tech drives it to comfirm what I am saying.

Oh ok.. Thank you for the help. Is it safe to drive my truck even with that problem or should i stop driving it till io get it fixed.

I would recommend having it checked. You could cause more damage to other components by driving it. Plus, if you need to accelerate quickly to avoid an accident, you may not be able to. That concerns me more than anything.

ok thank you for your help i have a warinty on my truck for the 1st 3,000 miles or 3 months eaither of those has happened yet do they HAVE to pay for the damage and fix my truck for me?
