My GMC sierra is making an intermitant screeching noise and I think it is the compressor clutch. If this is the case is this something that can be repaired at home or should I have a trained profesional look at it.
I just had it in the shop and the mech. replaced the belt tensioner pulley? but it did not stop the noise as i found out a day later.

one thing to look for is see if you are leaking coolant on the belt. does the belt look greasy, do you see any spots on the ground from anti freeze? does it only do it when the AC is on or the defrost is on?
