1998 GMC Sierra transmission problems

I have a 98 sierra with a 4l60e trans in it, it has no reverse, its hard to shift out of 1st gear, and it sometimes doesn't kick into over drive, I would like to know the cause.

I'm no expert, but I would say your tranny is junk. You can probably find a good respectable shop to run a diagnostic for around $100. Small price to pay when it comes to the possibility of replaces your transmission. ;)
